Operations and Maintenance

Customers typically turn to Operations and Maintenance support when they have a large and complex business operation to run, but they do not necessarily have, or wish to maintain, the staff and expertise required to run it well. Examples range from mission-critical facilities requiring specialized expertise to run the entire facility to requirements for round-the-clock staffing that the customer may feel distracts them from the core competencies at the focus of their business.

Calian has provided support of this nature throughout most of our corporate history, for both public and private sector customers.

In the public sector, for example, we operate and maintain both of the satellite receiving stations owned by the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (a constituent of Natural Resources Canada). These world-class facilities, one in Cantley, Quebec and the other in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, are run entirely by Calian, 24 hours/day and 365 days/year, by staff skilled in digital and radio frequency electronics, software, and facility operations.

In the private sector Calian has provided operations services to a major telecommunications equipment supplier by managing a facility that supports product development and testing, and requires shift-work operators, software/hardware support, and a dedicated team lead.

Calian brings considerable experience to operations and maintenance services, with an exemplary track record spanning nearly two decades, and the recruiting depth to staff virtually any requirement.
