Training

Calian provides training services that range from "classroom" instruction (including lab work) on operational and technical subjects through to high-level command and staff training using sophisticated simulation systems.

Our primary training customers are military groups. In both classroom and laboratory environments, Calian staff is responsible for ensuring that the instruction provided to the military students achieves the standards required by the course training plans. In the area of command and staff training, Calian's staff plans, develops and delivers exercises in a synthetic environment through the use of various constructive simulators in order to achieve the aim and training objectives as specified by the exercise director.

Calian also develops and delivers command and staff training to other Government departments and Agencies in domestic operations or emergency management environments.

Since 1995, we have been delivering training to technical audiences, creating training teams that are second to none:

• In the classroom and lab environment, Calian's team is largely comprised of well-trained retired military personnel with in-depth experience in their subject areas as well as current methodologies for classroom and lab instruction and testing. The Calian team takes full responsibility for the delivery of a course suite, including recruiting and hiring additional instructors when required, scheduling instructors, classrooms and training aids and providing valuable input to course validation and recommending methods of improvements.
  
  
• Calian's command and staff training team is comprised of highly trained retired military personnel with a broad range of experience in operations, command, training, policy development, operational research, exercise and training design, computer system design, and computer system administration. The Calian team offers a complete simulation based training solution. Once the aim and training objectives are established, Calian authors the exercise, sets up the databases as required, runs the exercise and prepares the after action review. If the exercise requires additional support, Calian supplies as and when required subject matter experts to role-play, mentor, operate simulation workstations or even help develop operational plans as an outcome of the training.
