Quality Overview

Calian's dedication to Quality continues to shape the way we operate our business. Since 2001, Calian's investment into the Business Excellence Journey has delivered a variety of rewards and opportunities for Calian employees, customers and shareholders. Calian has implemented a division wide organizational performance model that is aligned with world class excellence programs and our accomplishments in performance, as well as employee, customer, and shareholder satisfaction are achieved through the teamwork of dedicated employees. The Calian Management System (CMS) encompasses six distinct yet interdependent drivers focused on leadership, planning, customers, people, process and suppliers—each with a view to realizing continuous improvement goals.

Calian's commitment to excellence and service quality has been recognized by both the Canada Awards for Excellence and the National Quality Institute (NQI). In May 2006, Calian became the first private sector company to achieve the highest level of the NQI's Progressive Excellence Program (NQI PEP®); Level 4 in Business Excellence (Quality). In 2003, Calian further demonstrated our dedication to employee well being by incorporating the NQI Healthy Workplace stream for continuous improvement into the overall improvement plan, and in May 2006 was the first company to be recognized at NQI PEP® Level 3 for the implementation of the Healthy Workplace criteria.

In October 2006, Calian was proud to announce that the Business and Technology Services (BTS) Division had been selected by the NQI as a winner of the prestigious Canada Award of Excellence—Gold Trophy for Quality and the Canada Award of Excellence—Silver Level for Healthy Workplace.

Calian is only the third company to win Canada Awards for Excellence in both categories, and is the only organization to be recognized in both Quality and Healthy Workplace categories of the NQI PEP® program at an award-winning level. These accomplishments are testimony to Calian's continuous improvement efforts to deliver the company's vision of "Being the most desirable business and technology service provider to work for, buy from and invest in".

Ingrained within Calian's culture is the concept of continuous improvement, encouraging employees to take initiative in the resolution of problems and to constantly strive to deliver higher levels of customer satisfaction. Working together to find innovative solutions that increase accuracy and efficiency is second nature within Calian.
