- In 2001, a division wide Calian Management System (CMS) quality initiative was implemented that focuses on leadership, planning, customers, people, process and suppliers-each with a view to continuous improvement.
- In 2003, Calian incorporated Excellence Canada's Healthy Workplace Stream into the overall continuous improvement plan.
- In May 2006, Calian became the first private sector company to achieve the highest level of Excellence Canada's Progressive Excellence Program PEP® Level 4 in Business Excellence (Quality).
- In May 2006, Calian was recognized by Excellence Canada as the first company to achieve PEP® Level 3 for the Healthy Workplace.
- In October 2006, Calian was selected by Excellence Canada as a winner of the prestigious Canada Awards for Excellence-Gold Trophy for Quality.
- In July 2009, Calian achieved Excellence Canada's PEP® Level 4 in Healthy Workplace.
- In July 2009, Calian achieved the Canada Awards for Excellence-Gold Trophy for Healthy Workplace.
- In September 2011, Calian became a founding partner of Excellence Canada.
