Description of Project or Company/Organization:

Job Description:
- Functioning as a member of the Primary Care Team, referred to as the Care Delivery Unit (CDU), the physician will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive primary health care services to the CDU-rostered population, encompassing health promotion, prevention of diseases and injuries, diagnosis, occupational health, treatment, rehabilitation, palliative care, and support services. The physician will also be required to see rostered and non-rostered patients during sick parade hours, and at other times during the day when indicated. On occasion, the physician may be required to conduct evening or weekend clinics, and function as the on-call physician. The physician also takes part in activities associated with training other clinic staff, documenting encounters in health records, maintaining workload statistics and performance/productivity data, and participating in committee work and quality improvement activities.
- Performing comprehensive health assessments, pre and post deployment health assessments, and synthesizing data from multiple sources to make a diagnosis of a disease or disorder.
- Initiating and managing the care of clients with acute and chronic diseases or disorders within his/her scope of practice and/or monitoring the ongoing therapy of clients with chronic stable illnesses by providing effective pharmacological, complementary or counselling interventions, provided in accordance with the CF Spectrum of Care. The physician is also responsible for referring patients to specialist physicians and other service providers when appropriate.
- Implementing strategies to promote health and prevent illness.
- The Physician practices in a collaborative fashion as a member of an interdisciplinary team and consults with members of other health professions as appropriate
Mandatory Qualifications:
- The Physician must hold a current and valid license to practice medicine in the province of Saskatchewan
