Description of Project or Company/Organization:
    Calian currently holds the Canadian Defence Academy (CDA) contract for the following locations across Canada; St-Jean, QC, Quebec City, QC, Borden, ON and Halifax, NS.

    This contract allows Calian to expand the training services it currently provides to DND by supplying services to support Basic Military Qualification (BMQ) and Primary Leadership Qualification (PLQ) training in three streams: Administrative Support, Training Support; and Instructional Support.

    We currently have an opportunity for a bilingual Driver Instructor to work at the Canadian Forces Support Training Group (CFSTG) in Borden, ON.
Job Description:

    Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Providing instructions in the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of a Driver Instructor/Examiner;
  • Using word processing, spreadsheet and database software (MS Office Suite);
  • Preparing Lesson Plans;
  • Operate training simulators, tools, and/or other equipment used in occupation being instructed or by the institution providing the training;
  • Assisting other instructors in training activities requiring more than one instructor;
  • Counselling students on their progress;
  • Maintaining and updating student files;
  • Performing student assessments;
  • Assisting DND by making recommendations and changes to existing curriculum; and
  • Providing safety support by administering immediate first aid to students and unti personnel in the event of an emergency.
Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Minimum one (1) year experience providing Driver instruction;
  • Minimum two (2) years experience working in the content area;
  • Hold both MLVW and LUVW (G-wagon) qualifications
  • Hold a valid Standard First Aid certification.
  • Be functionally bilingual
